Ladies Day

The first week we arrived we had a great day out with Sue & Doug at Ladies Day Newmarket races. We got all dressed up in our best clothes.. oh yes Jim's were borrowed from Mik!!! Then the limo arrived, it was all our first time in a limo and made the day even more special. Meg was totally over the moon and we all enjoyed every minute despite no winnings on the horses that day, good job we only put on little bets.

Here is Doug & Jim in the limo.

Moving

Well here we are in rainy windy cold England. Who would have thought the year we return summer came and went in April or so we have been told maybe a hundred times a day!!!! Anyway we found us a house to rent and are currnetly in the process of trying to squeeze ourselves and everything we brought with us into it... A task I must say. What I wonder everyday I unpack another box is why oh why did I decide I must bring this or that with me. We have free storage in Florida yet I knew I would definately need those 3 cutlery sets and 3 knife sets along with a huge host of appliances that are 110v and we can't use!!!! Where was my brain at packing time??? Oh yes I remember at the beach or sitting by the pool in the sun.

I am at the point now that I have had to stop checking the weather in Cestview. I see 100+F and feel like crying thinking of my pool and the lovely beaches...what have I done.

As I sit typing this I glance out of the window and yet again it is pouring with rain and thick cloud, what joy. Last week I spent at my sisters in Worthing, had a great week spending time with her but all those planed days out dissolved with the weather. Meg was happy as she got to ride everyday even in the pouring rain. As Jim says constantly"you can't let rain stop you doing stuff in England or you'd never do anything" So true.

I took this pic on the side of the road on a day when it didn't actually rain, surprisingly.
